On Sat. we spent the morning strolling through beautiful Hyde Park and then we went to Bucking
ham Palace to see the changing of the guard and have a tour. The palace is open in Aug. and Sept. while the Queen is on Holiday. This was the highlight of the trip for all of us. We saw the formal entrance where guests are recieved, the dining rooms, ballroom, galleries, throne room, and various other hallways. It was amazing to think that someone actually live there.
On Sunday, we
went on the London Eye; a big ferris wheel that gives a great view of the city. Each 'pod' holds 25 people and it moves so slowly that it takes 30 min. t
o make a full circle. Then we headed out to Greenwich Village and happened upon a great street market with delicious food. By the end of the weekend, we were all exhausted from walking everywhere, but thrilled to have had such a great weekend and beautiful sight seeing weather. Allie asked as we boarded the plane, "Where are we going next weekend?" I better get planning...
