What a treat it is to be able to drive to Paris for the weekend. It is an easy 5 hours if you don't hit traffic in South Holland or Belgium. We spent a day in the city and a day at EuroDisney; a good mix of culture and fun. On the top of Allie and Tessa's list of things to do in Paris, was the Eiffel Tower, and on the top of my list was the Montenasse Museum which holds the largest Monet collection in the world. Neither failed to disappoint. No matter how many times you have seen the Eiffel Tower, it is awe inspiring. I wonder if when it was built in 1889, if they knew it would become one of the most popular tourist destinations. The Monet exhibit was amazing. The best part was a floor that was filled with huge sequence paintings, including the Water Lillies, the Bridge at Giverney.
| Notre Dame looked beautiful all lit up. |
In the evening we walked around the Notre Dame neighborhood and realized how breathtaking it is at night. We then took the subway back to our car and drove to our hotel, which was near EuroDisney. The next day we spent playing at Disney. Will the girls ever tire of this?
